“Michael Hayden has played a huge role in my life of teaching music since I first met him in the mid 1980s. At that time, Michael was a Professor of Vocal Music at IUPU in Ft Wayne, Indiana and I was a Choral Director at Carroll High School in Ft. Wayne. Michael worked with my Show Choirs on improving their vocal production. He taught me, most importantly, how to teach my students to produce wonderful choral tone quality, along with techniques for great projection, phrasing, breathing, diction, and style. So many things I have learned from Michael about how to teach! Since we met and first worked together we have remained good friends for over 40 years and as I have moved to other schools Michael has continued to work with my students and me.
