βThe style in which Michael taught us to understand unification created a much richer sound than we have ever created before. His passion for music is very prevalent and creates a very warm atmosphere, and his deep understanding for different types of voices makes everyone feel important.β

βMichael managed to transform my voice and the way that we sang as choirs in only one day, and his feedback was so valuable. I would definitely like to have another lesson with him, as I already feel like I am transformed as a singer.β

βI have been really fortunate to have Michael work with my choirs on two occasions, and the transformation of their sound and energy after just the first ten minutes is remarkable β after one or two hours together they grow into a totally new choir. Michael has a way of putting singers in his workshops at ease, but also making very clear the high expectations that he expects them to hold themselves accountable to. He is a gem of a workshop leader with a rare understanding of the psyche of teenage vocalists and how to support them in reaching their potential. I would recommend him to all choral directors without hesitation β thank you, Michael, for inspiring our young vocalists!β

βWhat a fabulous day! Learned so much about how to not only bring out the best in my own voice but with the choirs as well. I definitely feel so much more confident in my voice and the sound I can create on my own as well as with the choirs thanks to Michael! I will definitely be incorporating the techniques and tips ,which I was taught, in the many years of singing to come. Thank you so, so much!β

βMichael Hayden has played a huge role in my life of teaching music since I first met him in the mid 1980s. At that time, Michael was a Professor of Vocal Music at IUPU in Ft Wayne, Indiana and I was a Choral Director at Carroll High School in Ft. Wayne. Michael worked with my Show Choirs on improving their vocal production. He taught me, most importantly, how to teach my students to produce wonderful choral tone quality, along with techniques for great projection, phrasing, breathing, diction, and style. So many things I have learned from Michael about how to teach! Since we met and first worked together we have remained good friends for over 40 years and as I have moved to other schools Michael has continued to work with my students and me. The greatest thing about Michaelβs teaching techniques is that he also applies them to life skills and how singing can relate to so many other aspects. He is so easy to understand and his methods and skills to whatever group he may be working with are easily applied. Michaelβs energy and enthusiasm are beyond compare. His positive attitude not only about music but life in general is so refreshing and contagious! I have learned more from Michael on how to be an influential choral director for my students than I learned from any of my college professors. Michael has been such a wonderful mentor, friend and blessing in my life and has truly taught and helped me to become the music teacher I am!β
